ARE YOU LIKE MARY?
Mary was tired all the time and struggling to lose weight. She is 42, a busy mum of 3 young kids and working full time so life is busy and stressful. She has tried weight loss programmes like Weight Watchers and Slimming World. She lost some weight but struggled to maintain her weight loss. Other symptoms included daily bloating, bad PMT, and irregular bowel habits.
A food intolerance test showed a strong intolerance to dairy. On review of Marys food diary. I found there was a considerable amount of cow’s milk in cereal, coffees, sauces, yoghurts, and cheese daily in sandwiches and salads. As part of the consultation we discussed removing dairy and replacing with an alternative that still offered calcium.
Within a week Mary’s energy was up and bloating was gone. She even noticed a difference in her skin tone. She found she could get to sleep easier and had a better quality of rest.
During her consultation, we also discussed reducing carbohydrates in her diet and eating more protein foods. I suggested taking supplements to help with her PMT and reducing others that affected her symptoms. Mary maintained her food diary to track her symptoms. She returned for another consultation two weeks later to check her weight loss and her symptoms.
She had already noticed a difference in her clothes and had lost 2 inches from her waste. Mary is now steadily losing weight and has the energy to start an exercise program.
